Who's the Host with the Most? You are! Maybe you just don't know it yet... At this fun and friendly workshop, you'll learn more about how to plan and host your own social gatherings, and start your own social/interest group. Meet other aspiring Hosts, learn from the experiences of others, and get involved in some fun exercises to help you think about how you might get started with Hosting a group. Experienced Hosts looking to further develop their skills and connect with others are most welcome too!
All those who attend this Workshop will have 'Hosting' privileges added to their user profile, so that you can post your own events on this site, access free resources and training and connect with a community of other Hosts.
This is also the first step for all other volunteers, to get a basic understanding of Befriend, it's history, values, and more!
This workshop will be held in the Bloom Lab Co-Working space in St Catherine's College. St Catherine's College is a UWA student college, the training room can be found on the second floor near the dining hall. If you enter from Park Road go through the glass doors into the reception building. Turn right at the reception desk past the Seminar and Conference Rooms and exit the building through the glass door next to the Conference Room. Follow the brick path straight towards the glass entrance door to the other building (this building is older than the reception building) There will be a set of stairs to your right as you go through the glass door, go up the stairs. At the top of the stairs go down the corridor that is NOT marked as a student area. Follow the corridor past the Dandjoo Darbalung room, the next room is the Bloom Co-Working room. If entering from Stirling Highway go through the glass entry doors and turn left and go up the stairs. At the top of the stairs go left, past the main Bloom Lab )on your left) and the Upper Whitfeld doors (on your right). You will pass the computer room on your right, the next door is the Bloom Co-Working space. You'll find us there!
